Burgundy to (re)discover

What about Burgundy? Burgundy, maroon, Bordeaux, call it what you will, but why not put aside ever-present black just for once and venture into the depths of one of the noblest colours around? With all the passion of red, but with more intense tones that give it charm and mystery. It possesses charisma and has been a symbol of power since ancient times, while its shades of purple give it an extra touch of beauty. But its real genius is that it goes with everything, enhances everyone and is one of those shades you will never tire of.

Burgundy, the refined choice that elevates your look from everyday to festive

Have you indulged in an emerald green silk shirt? Trust me, pair it with burgundy trousers and you'll stand out. I also won't go into detail about how it’s a match-made-in-heaven with pink, because even a child could see that they are made to be together.

Let's talk about a nice maxi cardigan, how cool is it layered with slightly worn jeans and completed with a pair of loafers? Away for a romantic weekend? Same look, only wear the jumper next to your skin, and it will not pass unnoticed by whoever's with you.

The festive season is upon us, and we already know we'll be caught up in a red frenzy that's hard to resist.

Our friend burgundy can come to our rescue in this case too, perhaps with a padded satin jacket with shawl collar and belt at the waist, perfect for a grand evening over an alluring floor-length chiffon skirt and also perfect the morning after with a black turtleneck, grey pencil skirt and court shoes with a 10-cm heel or higher.

Burgundy, the shade that turns every garment into a must-have

It's a mystery as to how we've forgotten about it for so long, I mean, it's natural that you’ll get bored of acid green or neon orange after a while and push them to the back of your wardrobe.

But burgundy is different; it’s like that high-school sweetheart you lost sight of, and who, at a certain point, reappears in your life, even better than you remembered because the maturity of a dark tone gives it an extra touch of depth.

Still reluctant? Here's my suggestion: choose an easy piece, without overdoing the investment, and add it to your wardrobe. Give it two months and I'm sure you'll be wearing it all the time. And even black will thank you, because every now and then it too would like to lounge about on a hanger and gossip with the flowery shirts.
